Lazio, or Latium in Latin, is the cradle of the Roman empire and is incredibly rich in outstandingly well-preserved relics from different periods from its long history. This part of Italy is highly sought after not solely for Rome, the metropolitan capital of Italy (also known as The Eternal City), but also for Vatican City (also known as The Holy See) and its many wonderful museums. Other important cities are Frosinone, Latina, Viterbo and Rieti - all worth a visit. |
