We sent our concierge team on a test ride of our Vintage FIAT 500 tour in Tuscany. Here’s their report.
– What makes this experience special?
Driving along the magical scenery of Chianti in a car which is an icon in Italy – what a combo!
– What did you see or learn that you did not expect?
Driving at a slower speed compared to modern cars, you are able to take in the views much better and driving along small country roads you can discover hidden gems such like remote villages and hidden views.
– What would you have to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to try this experience?
The original FIAT 500 offers “vintage comfort”, they do not have air conditioning and they are quite small
– Who did you meet during the experience / was there a host / what was he/she like?
Our driver acted as a “Cicerone” for the sights and locations we were passing by. An experienced driver, he was able to explain how different driving such a car is compared to modern ones. A funny, likable person, he knew the areas we visited inside and out.
– Who would you bring with you if you had to do this again?
Definitely a good friend: this is a fun, active experience which requires a little flexibility and sense of humor
